DC01 Description

DC01 is a commercial quality cold-rolled low-carbon steel sheet, classified under the European standard EN 10130 as a non-alloy steel for cold forming. It offers good formability, weldability, and surface finish, commonly used in applications requiring moderate strength but excellent stamping or bending performance.

Formability: Excellent for bending, shallow drawing, and embossing.
Weldability: Very good; suitable for arc welding, spot welding, and laser welding without preheating.
Surface Treatment: Easily electroplated, painted, or phosphated; often used as substrate for galvanized steel (e.g., base for DX51D).

DC01 cannot be strengthened by heat treatment; only work hardening increases strength.
Prone to rust in humid environments—requires protective coating (paint, galvanizing).
For deep drawing applications, consider higher grades like DC03, DC04, or DC06.
